This blog is a medium in which @F1PaddockPass can express a few thoughts, outside the realm of 140 characters!

For those that are unaware, @F1PaddockPass was set up as a Twitter account to show friends and family what I was up to in the world of Formula One. It started as a hobby, something fun to do when I had some spare moments to take a few happy snaps and post them to the world.

Flash forward a few years and the Twitter account has taken a life of it’s own. When I passed 1,000 followers I was amazed. 5,000 and I was humbled. Now, as we pass 22,000 it’s time to expand the scope and venture out to new things – hence the expansion of the blog space and introduction of contributors and additional services.

Now one thing you should be aware of is that I am not a journalist. I have had no formal training in writing (well, apart from Mrs Moffat’s high school English class) and write each piece as I see fit. I write about what interests me, piques my interest. I’m not one for technical analysis, massive debriefs, interviews and all that. If you’re looking for that sort of thing, there are plenty of other sites that you could take a look at. But if you’re looking for the thoughts and opinions of someone who actually works in the sport, who also happens to be a fan – then you’ve come to the right place.

Any of the pieces that are written by myself are my opinion and views only. They do not represent the views of my employer, Formula One, Liberty Media, the FIA, the Circuits – you get the idea.

Likewise for any contributing authors. Their words, their thoughts. The contributors to F1PaddockPass.com are from a variety of backgrounds and I can’t speak for their taste in music, fashion or films – but what I can say is that they are passionate about Formula One – and that passion shows in each article they contribute.

I’ve been blessed to have thirteen years in Formula One and have seen many great things. I’ve made friendships that will last a lifetime. I’ve had moments of pure joy and witnessed scenes so sad that tears rolled down my cheeks. I’ve witnessed the highs, the lows and everything in between – and no doubt over the months and maybe years that follow, some of those stories will appear here.
